🐔 Appearance

• Bright white feathers

• Large red single comb (often flops over in hens)

• Yellow legs

• Slim, lightweight body

They are smaller than many dual-purpose breeds, which makes them very feed-efficient.

🥚 Egg Production

White Leghorns are known for:

• Starting early (around 16–18 weeks)

• Large white eggs

• Excellent feed-to-egg conversion

• Strong production for several years

They are among the most productive pure breeds available.

🏡 Temperament & Care

• Very active and excellent foragers

• Prefer free-range environments

• Can be less cuddly than breeds like Buff Orpingtons

• Not usually aggressive, but not as docile

Their large combs may need protection in very cold climates to prevent frostbite.
